“County lines” is a plague on modern society. Urban criminal gangs set up mobile numbers in towns and rural areas to supply drugs. The related crimes inflict misery on society, in particular the vulnerable, including young children.

 

Detective Chief Inspector Rosie Marks, a proud Yorkshire lass known to many as “Yorkshire Rosie”, is based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, where she heads “Operation Caterpillar”, a unit fighting county lines.

 

A young drug runner has been stabbed on a quiet street under the orders of organised crime group (OCG) boss Brian Hazell who is looking to reorganise and improve his drug selling machine in Harrogate. While doing so, Hazell gains the attention of DCI Rosie Marks.

 

And so begins a confrontation between a nasty, ruthless OCG boss and an intelligent, determined and respected police detective.

 

Who will get the upper hand in this battle?

Detective Chief Inspector Rosie Marks, known to many as ‘Yorkshire Rosie’, is a respected and popular police officer. Brilliant, clever and successful, she heads up a team fighting county lines and related crimes in the spa town of Harrogate under the project name ‘Operation Caterpillar’.

OCG (Organised Crime Group) boss, Brian Hazell, has been a police target for some time, but will do anything, no matter how evil, to avoid arrest. So, when Hazell’s thugs make a mistake, police detectives, including Rosie, see an opportunity to bring him to justice. However, efforts to hunt him down are hampered by an informer inside Harrogate police station, and Rosie needs to find out who it is.

As life throws a barrage of difficulties in her direction, Rosie has to focus on the important matters. Hazell, and other criminals cannot be allowed to succeed.
