ABOUT PHIL HOLMES

Phil Holmes was born in Hampshire, England, and ‘emigrated’ to the northern spa town Harrogate in the county of North Yorkshire where he has lived for many years. Since school, he has worked as a painter and decorator, a double glazing salesman and MD of a manufacturing company, to mention just a few. He then went on to run his own office supplies business which he sold in late 2019.
These days Phil, who is addicted to golf, spends as much time as he dares on the golf course, works in the accountancy and bookkeeping business he owns with his wife, watches lots of sport, all the while working on writing novels.
Phil’s loves include music, playing golf and watching sport. His dislikes include injustice, bad weather (especially on golf days) and has a life-long hatred of cheese!
A few years ago he began to work on an idea for a series of stories featuring a police detective named DCI Rosie Marks, who leads a team of officers fighting County Lines and related crimes in North Yorkshire under the project name ‘Operation Caterpillar’.
The Rosie Marks series is being launched from 2025, beginning with an introductory novella named ‘County Lines’.
Phil lives in Harrogate with his wife. He has three children and four grandchildren.
